Notice that squall line along the MS River producing damaging winds and one area of tornadic circulation. More concerning are the supercells forming out ahead of it though. One affects Franklin, Moore, and Lincoln Counties in TN. The other is in Southeastern Hickman County.
At least the one tornado was confirmed as it moved North of Hohenwald. Not sure about recently, but the storm in Moore County coming through the South side of Lynchburg has been a long-lived supercell that at least produced a tornado back at Waterloo when it started in Northwest Alabama.
3:25 PM - Max Velocity has a good live stream going.
A third tornado is coming up on Jackson, TN.
3:27 - In the only warning really close to home base here, Lincoln County has been dropped from it. It continues for Franklin and Moore Counties until 3:45 PM CDT.
And actually here's a better look at it. Not sure why the Columbus Base radar source showed up for the first graphic. This is from Hytop radar.
3:40 - All right, new Tornado Warning as this storm tracks East.
There is also a confirmed tornado near Franklin, Southwest of Nashville. Let me see what I can pull up on that.
3:42 - Ok broadcast media is calling this confirmed, but the NWS Nashville is not. I'm deferring to the Weather Service BUT reminding people that you don't need to wait on confirmation, especially on a day like today. Best thing to do is go to shelter and continue to gather information from a safe place.
3:45 - And here is tornado number three up there in Tennessee. The isolated supercells that some models picked up on are happening. The event is underway with the squall line still crossing the MS River.
But these discrete cells out ahead of it are even more dangerous than the actual line, higher chance of producing really large hail, wind damage, or a tornado.
3:54 - Watching this severe thunderstorm near Booneville, MS that is showing rotation at times, but anyway is trying to produce winds of about 60 mph and hail of about quarter size.
There is also a thunderstorm trying to form in Southern Cullman County.
3:57 - And that was just upgraded to a Tornado Warning, the storm coming out of Booneville.
Folks in the path of this, get to shelter. People in far Northwest Alabama, from about Red Bay to Cherokee to Waterloo, be watching this and getting ready to take shelter in case it affects you later.
4:01 PM - That other storm South of Nashville, from Centerville to Fairview to places like Brentwood, Franklin, down to Thompson's Stations and Spring Hill, people need to take shelter for winds that could get up to 70 mph and golfball sized hail. This storm could also potentially produce a tornado, but right now there is more evidence for damaging straight-line winds.
