...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...


* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.


* WHERE...A portion of Middle Tennessee, including the following

  counties, Giles, Lawrence, Lewis, Perry and Wayne.


* WHEN...Until 315 PM CDT.


* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas,

  especially low water crossings.


* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 1119 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to

    thunderstorms. Minor flooding can be expected in the advisory

    area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen over the

    last few hours this morning, and rain is expected to continue

    into the afternoon.

  - This includes the following streams and drainages...

    Second Creek, Horse Creek, Weatherford Creek including Lutts

    and Martins Mills, Indian Creek, Cypress Creek, Middle

    Cypress Creek, Dry Branch including areas near Fairview,

    Butler Creek, Shoal Creek including areas near Iron City, and

    Factory Creek.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Lawrenceburg, Waynesboro, Linden, Loretto, Collinwood,

    Clifton, St. Joseph, Minor Hill, Westpoint, Iron City,

    Cypress Inn, Flatwoods, Leoma and Lutts.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...


Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.
