Tornado Warning

8:33 AM _ Ok so we have a tornado warning again exactly where they do NOT need it, Sylvania, Henagar, Valley Head in this polygon. Take shelter right away if in the path.

I would also take shelter for the severe thunderstorm warning affecting Marshall and Dekalb Counties, which carries a tornado possible tag.

Cullman County has been cleared fromt he severe thunderstorm warning. Blount County is still under it.

8:35 - Here is an outline of that warning. I had some technical difficulties and actually also cat difficulties as the storms rolled through my area. Catching up now. Hope this is helpful to some people.

8:37 - All right, the tornado warning was cancelled early. I'm glad for that news. Those people deserve a break!

What we have left are Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and Flash Flood Warnings. So use caution with those. If you are in the areas outlined above for the Severe T-Storm Warning in Marshall and Dekalb Counties, I would go to shelter, because it has shown weak rotation at times, plus damaging winds are dangerous anyway.

8:42 - NWS Huntsville mentions that probably all of NOrth Alabama will be cleared from the tornado watch in another half hour.

Most of us are already out from under it but in Cullman, Walker, Blount, up through Masrshall, Jackson, Dekalb, it is still in effect. It was only supposed to go until 10 AM anyway.

They are now having flash flooding issues in Jackson and Dekalb Counties, a warning is in effect. It may be based on radar, but still, be careful, don't drive into any water that covers a road.

8:50 - And now the severe thunderstorms are shifting into Central Alabama. As soon as they clear the Tornado Watch I'm hanging it up for a while. I am out of steam. Will try to get a forecast posted tonight unless we were to have more storms, which I kind of doubt, but this system did throw us a lot of curves. So it is a low chance but we'll have to watch this evening and tonight, Thursday night. Friday should be a lovely day and cooler, High in the 70's.
