Tornado Warning

This one is confirmed. Take shelter right away. 

12:15 PM - Matt Laubhan has a live stream going about this.

12:18 - Here is a look at the isolated supercell via Radarscope. We've got a good velocity couplet and a lowering of the correlation coefficient in roughly the same position. But this was confirmed earlier by broadcast media. 

12:25 - Here's a look at where the tornado is moving. Remember that there is always a margin of error with radar, plus tornadoes can change direction quickly, so if you are anywhere in this polygon still in the path of this storm, please take your precautions until this passes. Don't wait to know for sure that it's coming right down your street. 

Since some people might not can figure this out on their own by looking at the map, Florence and Muscle Shoals are not included in this warning. So you don't need to take any cover if you live there. 

12:28 - Lauderdale County EMA reporting a funnel cloud but no confirmed damage as of yet.

12:35 - I believe I've found the broadcast report that prompted this warning about 30 minutes ago. 

12:37 - Folks in Wayne County, TN be getting ready for this storm, starting to hug the state line now.

12:39 - A lady sent this picture to James Spann of what appears to be the tornado crossing some water earlier. 

12:42 - Next call to action: Iron City, St. Joseph, and Loretto across the Tennessee state line. New tornado warning has been issued for these areas. 

Please remember that the rest of us have a threat for severe weather later this evening and tonight. 

This is an isolated supercell that formed a little bit ahead of schedule. 

12:46 - Going to keep a good track on this storm. 

12:50 - Got a live stream from WAAY-31 too. 

12:52 - Here's the broad view. Other storms are trying to form at times but are having a hard time getting organized. 

1 PM - The storm has definitely crossed over into TN now. 

1:02 - And now Wayne County has been cancelled from the warning. The tornado is coming up on Loretto in Lawrence County. 

1:07 - Between all the pictures and videos, plus trees down near County Road 10400 in Waterloo, it looked like a tornado did touch down there about an hour ago. Emergency management there is calling it a confirmed tornado now. 

1:12 - A Tornado Watch has come out including Western Tennessee, Northern Mississippi, back into parts of Arkansas and Missouri. Our window for severe weather in most of North Alabama probably comes about 4-6 hours from now. This storm we're tracking is an isolated event. And sort of took everyone by surprise.

3:04 PM _ All right, I dozed off for a while. I started to say that's a good example of why you need weather radio to wake you up. But it looks like there may have been a new Tornado Watch that my radio did not tone for. That could be a glitch in my individual device though. That thing is lucky to still survive at all. It has been knocked around by cats and taken so many hard falls over the years. Usually it works though. 

This storm has held together and showing signs of trying to produce a tornado, moving between Fayetteville and toward Lynchburg. 

Also another tornado, this one confirmed, for a storm North of Hohenwald, moving Northeast toward Santa Fe, TN.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...

  Northwestern Lauderdale County in northwestern Alabama...

  Northwestern Colbert County in northwestern Alabama...

* Until 1245 PM CDT.

* At 1207 PM CDT, a confirmed tornado was located 7 miles east of J P

  Coleman State Park, moving east at 25 mph.

  HAZARD...Damaging tornado.

  SOURCE...Broadcast media confirmed tornado.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without

           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.

           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree

           damage is likely.

* This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of

  northwestern Lauderdale and northwestern Colbert Counties,

  including the following locations... Riverton, Wright, Threet, Zip

  City, and Waterloo.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

To repeat, a tornado is on the ground. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a

basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy

building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in

a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect

yourself from flying debris.

Heavy rainfall may hide this tornado. Do not wait to see or hear the
